TAPfit fiesta takes over Tavistock Town Hall

By Contributor in Events

THE sound of rhythmic tapping filled Tavistock Town Hall recently as dancers took part in a charity TAPfit fiesta.

The fiesta, which involved TAPfit, cakes, refreshments, a raffle and a tombola, was organised by TAPfit instructor Hannah Holland and raised more than £500 for Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

Tap attachments were given to participants to place over their trainers and they took part in up to two hours of the cardio, strength training and tap step workout.

Hannah said: ‘The atmosphere was fabulous as we danced to a variety of songs. There was a large array of cakes and refreshments available, which people kindly donated towards. Alongside that, was a tombola with over 100 prizes up for grabs, ranging from teddy bears to perfume to jigsaws.

‘There was also a raffle, which consisted of over 50 prizes generously donated by a multitude of local businesses, family and friends. I would like to thank Dartmoor Gliding Society for donating the first prize — a trial flight over Dartmoor! Second prize was a family pass to Dingles Heritage Fairground and third prize was a wonderful locally produced hamper donated by Abode.

‘I would like to thank everybody who supported the event and give special thanks to the management team of Tavistock Town Hall for all their assistance in putting on this event.

‘I am pleased to say that the TAPfit Fiesta raised £523.17 for Devon Air Ambulance.’
